Nkosinathi Gaseutlwiwe, 27, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping a 20-year-old woman and assaulting a male victim in Kuruman.

A man who was caught red-handed raping his victim was sentenced to an effective 12 years behind bars after recently being convicted in the Kuruman Regional Court.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomed the conviction and sentencing of Nkosinathi Gaseutlwiwe, 27, of Maruping.

He was convicted on charges of rape (12 years) and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm (two years).

NPA spokesperson, Mojalefa Senokoatsane, said the court ordered that the sentences run concurrently.
