Soldiers of Ukraine's 225th Separate Assault Regiment have dismissed Russian claims that the village of Kopani in the Zaporizhzhia region has been "captured."

The regiment stated this on Telegram and released a corresponding video, Ukrinform reports.

"Russian channels are spreading reports about the 'liberation' of the settlement of Kopani. Videos covered in flags, triumphant comments - the usual propaganda. Soldiers of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment filmed footage directly in the area of the village, showing that the Russian claims have nothing to do with the actual situation on the ground," the statement said.

According to the military, one of the Russian servicemen involved in raising the flag has been taken prisoner by Ukrainian forces and added to the pool of prisoners available for future exchanges.
