Celebrations after victory being reached at the ConCourt's judgment.
A more than ten-year wait for victory has been reached for housing activists after the Constitutional Court ruled that the intended disposal and sale of the controversial Tafelberg Site in Sea Point was unlawful.
It found that the Western Cape Provincial Government had failed to consult with the National Minister of Human Settlements of its intention to dispose of public land and to provide meaningful public participation.
The judgment comes a year after it was reserved.
It concerns the would-be sale of the land to the Phyllis Jowell Jewish Day School for R135 million in 2015 under then-Premier Helen Zille.
