MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy around 6,000 police officers to secure the Senate and surrounding areas as the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte begins Monday, July 6.

PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co said in a press briefing in Camp Crame on Friday that a comprehensive security plan has already been finalized.
