Before you head out, check whether your state is observing a bank holiday.Banks across several states will remain closed on select days in July on account of regional festivals and commemorative occasions, according to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar.Apart from these state-specific holidays, banks across the country will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month in line with RBI guidelines. However, digital banking services, including UPI, internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs, are expected to remain operational.Here is the complete list of state-wise bank holidays in July 2026:July 6 (Monday): Banks will remain closed in Mizoram on account of MHIP Day, while branches in West Bengal will remain shut for the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.July 9 (Thursday): Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed for Beh Deinkhlam, one of the state's prominent traditional festivals.July 16 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in Odisha for Ratha Yatra (Rathajatra). Branches in Uttarakhand will observe Harela, while banks in Manipur will also remain shut on the same day, as per the RBI holiday calendar.July 17 (Friday): Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed to mark the Death Anniversary of U Tirot Sing.July 18 (Saturday): Banks in Sikkim will remain closed on account of Drukpa Tshe-zi.July 22 (Wednesday): Banks in Tripura will remain closed for Kharchi Puja.In addition to these regional holidays, banks across India will remain closed on July 5, 12, 19 and 26 (Sundays), as well as July 11 and July 25, which are the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.The RBI notifies bank holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, and the schedule differs across states depending on local festivals and observances. Customers planning branch transactions are advised to complete time-sensitive banking work in advance.
