Bank branches across India will observe a modest number of closures in July 2026, with the holiday schedule concentrated in states such as Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, Mizoram, Tripura, and a handful of others. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues the official holiday calendar, and with 8 scheduled closures this month — including the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays — customers across most of the country will find their local branches largely accessible throughout the month. Digital banking services including UPI, net banking, and mobile apps, along with ATM access, will remain unaffected on all holidays.List of bank holidays:DateDayHolidayState1 July 2026WednesdayGuru Hargobind Ji's BirthdayJammu & Srinagar6 July 2026MondayMHIP DayMizoram11 July 2026SaturdaySecond SaturdayAll states12 July 2026SundayWeekendAll states13 July 2026MondayBhanu JayantiSikkim13 July 2026MondayMartyrs' DayJammu & Kashmir21 July 2026TuesdayKharchi PujaTripura25 July 2026SaturdayFourth SaturdayAll states26 July 2026SundayWeekendAll states31 July 2026FridayShaheed Udham Singh's Martyrdom DayPunjab and HaryanaCustomers in Jammu & Srinagar should note closures on July 1 and July 13, while those in Sikkim face two shutdowns within the same week with Bhanu Jayanti on July 13 and Drukpa Tsheshi on July 18. For much of the country, however, July 2026 is a comparatively light month, with the only universal closures being the second Saturday (July 11) and fourth Saturday (July 25). Notably, July 16 sees regional holidays in both Manipur/Odisha (Ratha Yatra) and Uttarakhand (Harela), but these do not fall on a Saturday or Sunday, so customers in those states should plan branch visits accordingly. For time-sensitive transactions, using NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, or UPI is recommended to avoid delays — these services operate round the clock, including on all gazetted holidays.
