Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner H.V. Darshan on Thursday announced the continuation of the holiday for all schools, pre-university colleges and anganwadis in the district on Friday as the India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the coastal districts.He urged people to stay away from beaches and riverbanks and advised fishermen not to venture into the sea.District- and taluk-level officers have been instructed not to leave their respective headquarters.
