This year, two teams of PhD candidates had the opportunity to represent EPFL at the EuroTeQaThon, hosted by DTU in Denmark. After several months of dedicated work and three intense days of collaboration and creativity in Copenhagen, our teams delivered their final pitches in front of the jury on Monday, 15 June. The first team, VR-Assisted Demining, was addressing a challenge proposed by FSD (Swiss Foundation for Mine Action) by developing a virtual reality-assisted system to support demining operations in conflict and post-conflict zones. The second team, Fasten Your Greenbelt, was working on innovative solutions to help reduce the carbon footprint of aviation in response to a challenge proposed by WWF.Although this year did not end with a podium finish, the experience provided participants with a unique opportunity to connect with fellow students from across Europe, share ideas, exchange best practices and explore innovative solutions to some of today’s most pressing challenges.Congratulations once again to all the participants for their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm throughout this journey. We're already looking forward to next year's edition in Tallinn! If you’re interested in taking part in the next EuroTeQaThon, get in touch with us at [email protected] or follow us on Instagram @euroteq.epfl to stay informed about the next call for applications and upcoming information sessions. We'd love to hear from you!EuroTeQaThon finalizations and discussions - © EuroTeQ Engineering UniversityEPFL Team members at EuroTeQaThon 2026 © EPFL Jessica SaybouakhaoEPFL Team members at EuroTeQaThon 2026 © EPFL Jessica Saybouakhao© 2026 EPFL - Jessica SaybouakhaoEPFL Team members at EuroTeQaThon 2026 © EPFL Jessica Saybouakhao
