Police have arrested three suspects over the murder of a BNP leader in Dhaka’s Adabor reportedly following a dispute over watching a football World Cup match and celebrating the victory.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Tejgaon Division’s Deputy Commissioner Md Ibne Mizan said the three were arrested in the Nobodoy Housing residential area around 4:30pm on Thursday.

Police and RAB have 10 suspects for alleged involvement in the attack
The sweep targets suspects linked to a range of offences
Two of the suspected robbers have also suffered gunshot wounds
Of the five suspects in the case, only one -- the prime suspect Chanchal Chandra Sarkar -- has been arrested
Police say the suspects have been identified and efforts are under way to arrest them
