The International Crimes Tribunal has sentenced three police officials, including former Dhaka Metropolitan police commissioner Habibur Rahman, to death in a crimes against humanity case over the the shootings of several people, including a young man hanging from the cornice of a building in Dhaka’s Rampura during the 2024 July Uprising.
The tribunal also sentenced another police official to life in prison and a fifth to 20 years in prison.
