Kurnool MP Bastipati Nagaraju on Thursday reiterated that the Centre and the Andhra Pradesh government were jointly leading rural development through the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission Grameen (VB-G RAM-G) to expand employment opportunities and create durable community assets.Participating in the launch of the scheme at Veldurthi, the MP said the revamped scheme has increased guaranteed employment from 100 to 125 days, creating livelihood security for rural households. He clarified that the Centre would bear 60% of the project cost, and the State’s contribution would be 40%. “The wage rates in Andhra Pradesh are higher than those in neighbouring Telangana,” the MP claimed.

District Collector A. Siri said workers could earn up to ₹320 a day based on productivity, and wages would be credited directly to their bank accounts within 15 days. “All the existing MGNREGS job cards will remain valid under the new programme,” the Collector assurred.Ms. Siri said: “Kurnool has 3.15 lakh registered job cards, of which 2.59 lakh are active. All eligible families should activate their dormant cards.
