HYDERABADRevenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Thursday asserted that the Congress government will not be intimidated by what he described as the “highly objectionable behaviour” of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Reddy alleged that BRS leaders, despite being accused of large-scale corruption, continue to speak as if they are still in power or will return to office. “Their corruption has already been exposed in the Assembly by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Ministers, and MLAs. Yet they continue to make baseless claims against this government,” he said.He flayed BRS leaders for attempting to shift the blame for their alleged misdeeds during the decade-long rule onto the present regime. He described as ’ridiculous’ the opposition’s demand that the Congress government step down after just two-and-a-half years in office, despite being elected for a five-year term. “The people of Telangana and the country know what has happened in these two-and-a-half years and what judgments have been delivered,” he remarked. He also dismissed allegations that corruption took place in recent government tenders, calling them “irrational.” According to him, claims that tenders were inflated three to four times beyond their value were unfounded. “If they continue this kind of behaviour, they may not even retain opposition status in the future,” he warned.
