Mr Kavin said the group's transformation aligns with the global 'slow urbanism' trend.

Ally, a prominent real estate manager, has launched a major transformation of its traditional, revenue-driven community malls, with over 2 billion baht in planned investments. The move by Thailand's leading investor and operator of premier community malls and retail mixed-use properties will see it accelerate the transition towards what it calls "urban lifestyle platforms".

"This is the first time we have embarked on such an endeavour since we were founded almost two decades ago," said Kavin Eiamsakulrat, chief executive of ALLY.

Under the transformation plan, he said Ally plans to acquire additional assets within its existing portfolio of three mid-scale community malls, including Charn at the Avenue, Saimai Avenue and The Zone Town in Town, with a total investment of 1.5 billion baht.

The proceeds of 1.5 billion baht will come from recapitalisation of 757.5 million baht, with the remaining amount stemming from bank loans.
