The Greek Embassy in London is hosting an art exhibition inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, featuring works by Greek artist Markos Kampanis at the Hellenic Residence through July 3.

Titled “Odyssey – Imaginary Cartographies,” the exhibition presents what organizers describe as a contemporary visual reinterpretation of Homer’s epic, tracing the hero’s journey through an imagined geography created by the artist.

The show comes a few days before the world premiere of Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated big-screen adaptation of the epic adventure, which has drawn fresh public attention to the ancient Greek tale.

Opening the event last week, Greece’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Yiannis Tsaousis, described The Odyssey as a cornerstone of world civilization and one of the defining works of the Greek language and literary tradition.
