PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Jungudo

The Peoples Democratic Party has dismissed claims by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, that it is dead, insisting that the opposition party remains alive, strong, and undergoing a rebuilding process ahead of future elections.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Jungudo, who stated this in a statement on Wednesday, said its recent electoral victories, growing support base, and influx of prominent political figures and stakeholders across the country demonstrate the party’s continued relevance and national appeal.

Akpabio, on Wednesday, ridiculed the Peoples Democratic Party, saying he was surprised the opposition party was still in existence and should be allowed to die.

He made the remark while speaking at the commissioning of a road project in the Gaduwa District of the Federal Capital Territory, where he commented on the state of the PDP.
