As South Africa rallies behind its Proteas Women, anticipation grows for what promises to be an electrifying semi-final against England. Can they reach the final once more and deliver a World Cup triumph?

With Bafana Bafana due to arrive home this morning from the Fifa World Cup, the nation’s focus has now switched to the Proteas Women’s cricket team.

Laura Wolvaardt’s phenomenal run of reaching five consecutive major ICC tournament semi-finals continues on Thursday when the Proteas face hosts England in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup semi-finals at The Oval in South London (7.30 pm SAST).

The Proteas are also aiming for a hat-trick of T20 World Cup finals, following their appearances at Cape Town 2023 and Dubai 2025.

Wolvaardt has endured a quiet T20 World Cup by her own high standards thus far, with veteran all-rounder Marizanne Kapp taking centre stage instead.
