Seventeen off-road vehicles were donated in Sofia by Russian citizens living in Bulgaria to support the Ukrainian armed forces and the Russian “Freedom for Russia” Legion, which is fighting alongside Ukraine against the Kremlin leadership.

The vehicles were formally handed over during a public event held at Alexander Nevsky Square. Organizers said the initiative was open and peaceful, with invitations extended to both Bulgarian and international media to document the transfer.

According to participants, the donation was organized through the “Bessarabian Front” organization, and forms part of a recurring effort by Russians residing in Bulgaria who oppose the current Russian government. They stated that similar aid initiatives have been carried out in the past.

Gennady Vorobyov, a representative of the org, said the campaign has an established pattern of support activities for Ukraine. “The event is peaceful and public in nature. Representatives of Bulgarian and international media were invited. The goal is to show voluntary assistance to Ukraine and support for its defense against Russian aggression,” organizers said.

The donated vehicles are intended for use by Ukrainian forces and members of the Russian volunteer unit operating within Ukraine’s military structure. The handover ceremony took place in a visible public setting in central Sofia.
