Fatemeh Sepehri, a political prisoner held in Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison, has ended her hunger and medication strike.
The human rights website HRANA reported that the political prisoner concluded her strike after several days. Concurrently, Asghar Sepehri, Fatemeh Sepehri’s brother, announced on his X (formerly Twitter) account that the family met with her during a visitation. Following this meeting, his sister agreed to end her hunger and medication strike.
According to him, Fatemeh Sepehri’s physical condition has improved compared to recent days.
Fatemeh Sepehri, a political activist and one of the signatories of the open letter demanding the resignation of Ali Khamenei, was arrested during the 2022 nationwide protests and has been held in Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison ever since.
She has been sentenced to a total of 18 years in prison across multiple cases by the Mashhad Revolutionary Court. Judicial authorities have leveled charges against her, including “propaganda against the regime,” “cooperation with hostile states,” and “insulting Khomeini and Khamenei.”
