Alongside the continued detention and legal limbo of Sara Sepehri, reports indicate a severe decline in the physical health of this Baha’i citizen. According to information obtained by IranWire, she has suffered from stomach bleeding and an aggravation of her eye condition during her detention.

Ms. Sepehri has been held in Shiraz’s Adelabad Prison for over 50 days.

Before her arrest, Ms. Sepehri already suffered from gastrointestinal and ophthalmic conditions and was undergoing medical treatment. However, prison conditions and a lack of adequate access to medication and proper healthcare services in recent weeks have led to the deterioration of both her physical and psychological well-being.

According to an informed source, although a portion of her required medication was recently delivered to Ms. Sepehri, her current condition requires a physician’s examination and oversight to adjust the dosages; otherwise, her health will continue to decline. Sara Sepehri was arrested by security forces at her private residence in the city of Shiraz on Thursday, April 9. Before her arrest, she was also the primary caregiver for her 85-year-old disabled mother.
