Ukrainian diplomats are still awaiting access to the victims of the explosion in Monaco, as the principality's authorities have not yet officially confirmed the nationality of all those injured.
A diplomatic source informed an Ukrinform correspondent about this.
"For Monaco, the handling of personal data is a key consideration. At this point, the authorities have not officially confirmed that all of the victims are Ukrainian citizens," the source said, adding that in private conversations officials have indicated that the woman and the boy do, in fact, hold Ukrainian citizenship.
According to the source, Ukrainian consular staff have still not been allowed into the hospital, despite having submitted all the necessary requests to the authorities of the Principality of Monaco.
"As is known, the woman remains in critical condition and has undergone surgery, while under protocol the boy must first be interviewed carefully by Monaco's law enforcement authorities. Only after that will we be granted access to him, provided doctors give their permission," the source said.
