The domestic automobile wholesales (dispatches to dealers) in June continued the growth momentum in both passenger vehicles (PVs) and two-wheelers segment, except a few like Hyundai Motor India whose production was hit due to a fire incident at one of the supplier’s manufacturing facilities.In PV segment, market leader Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) on Wednesday reported domestic wholesales (dispatches to dealers) of 1,47,187 units in June, growing by around 24 per cent year-on-year (YoY) as compared with 1,18,906 units in the corresponding month last year.In the mini segment (Alto, S-Presso), the company dispatched 11,416 units in June as compared with 6,414 units in June 2025. In the compact segment (like WagonR, Swift, Baleno, Dzire), the company reported a YoY growth of 15.5 per cent to 63,815 units during the month as compared with 55,205 units in the same month last year.Similarly, in the utility vehicles segment (like Brezza, Ertiga, e-Vitara, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny), MSIL saw a jump of around 29 per cent YoY in its dispatches to 61,726 units in June as compared with 47,947 units in the corresponding month last year.Utility vehicles maker, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) also reported growth of 28 per cent YoY in its domestic wholesales to 60,393 units in June, as compared with 47,306 units in the corresponding month last year.“In June we achieved SUV sales of 60,393 units and LCV less than 3.5Tonne segment sales of 26,076 units delivering robust growth of 28 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively. The total vehicle sales stood at 1,06,207, a 37 per cent YoY growth reflecting all-round demand traction across the portfolio,” Nalinikanth Gollagunta, Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Division, M&M, said.However, ‘Creta’ maker Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) reported a decline of 10 per cent YoY in its domestic dispatches to 39,635 units during the month as compared with 44,024 units in June 2025.Tarun Garg, MD and CEO, HMIL, said, the company faced a production loss of 13,900 units owing to a fire incident at one of the supplier’s manufacturing facilities which led to a temporary disruption in production.“HMIL has taken all necessary steps to ensure production normalcy including arranging automotive parts from alternate source locations. Our production operations have returned to normal across facilities since June 22, 2026. We expect to recover the loss in June production volume within Q2 of FY26-27,” Garg added.Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), reported a growth of 8 per cent YoY to 28,441 units in June this year as against 26,453 units in June 2025.JSW MG Motor India said the company recorded its highest-ever wholesale performance in June with dispatches of 7,568 units during the month as compared with 5829 units in June 2025.In the two-wheeler segment, market leader Hero MotoCorp reported a decline of 4.2 per cent YoY in its domestic dispatches to 502,890 units during the month as compared with 525,136 units in June 2025.The company said domestic motorcycle and scooter business sustained a healthy positive momentum into June 2026, adding that scooter portfolio achieved strong double-digit growth, while motorcycle demand remained resilient.Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported steady performance with domestic wholesales growing by 21 per cent YoY to 4,68,956 units in June as compared with 3,88,812 units in the corresponding month last year.“While we remain mindful of the dynamic market environment, we will continue to focus on consistent execution of our business priorities.
