From today, July 1, 2026, Bulgaria discontinues the separate 30.68-euro "Covid supplement" that has been included in work-related pensions. Newly granted and recalculated pensions will no longer contain this additional payment.
At the same time, all labor pensions granted through the end of 2025 will be increased by 7.8% under the so-called Swiss rule. The adjustment will also apply to recipients of survivor's pension supplements, commonly referred to as the "widow's supplement," increasing the amount they receive by the same percentage.
The minimum old-age pension for insurance service and age will also rise by 7.8%, increasing from 322.37 euros to 347.51 euros. Other labor-related pensions calculated on the basis of this minimum amount, including pensions for incomplete insurance periods, disability pensions, and survivor's pensions, will be adjusted accordingly.
The social old-age pension will also be increased by 7.8% from July 1, reaching a level set by the Council of Ministers. Because several other benefits and pension supplements are calculated as a percentage of the social pension, their amounts will also rise automatically.
The National Social Insurance Institute also announced the payment schedule for July. Benefits for pregnancy and childbirth, raising a child up to the age of two, and adoption of a child up to five years old for the month of June will be paid on July 2.
