He urged members to stay away from participating in such activities, which could tarnish the party’s image across the country. He said, “Throwing eggs is not the culture of BJP, and BJP never endorses such activities. Throwing eggs in any form is not on BJP agenda. If such incidents keep happening every day, BJP’s reputation will be dragged through the mud across the country, which we don’t want. This has to stop.”Bhattacharya also urged his party workers to be modest and not to display arrogance over winning 207 assembly seats. “There is no place for arrogance in politics. People have given their verdict against TMC’s arrogance. One TMC neta claimed that after 12pm on May 4, and a DJ would blare. The people have thrown them out,” he said.“A handful of people have been trying to wash away their sins. It won’t be that easy. People won’t accept this,” Bhattacharya said while pointing out that BJP had been finding it difficult to handle some elements trying to project themselves as BJP supporters across the state.Bhattacharya went on to say, “The previous TMC govt deceived its employees. They spent a massive amount of public money to hire lawyers.” Turning to state minister Deepak Barman, Bhattacharya added, “The minister is right here. I would urge him to investigate how much money each department spent on hiring lawyers and release a white paper on it.”
