Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy have offered their condolences for the death of former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry M.M. Lakhera.A former General officer of Indian Army, Lakhera served as the Lt. Governor of Puducherry from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Lakhera, a resident of Uttarakhand, passed away on June 29.In his condolence message, Mr. Kailashnathan recalled Mr. Lakhera’s contribution to the country as an Army officer and as an administrator of the Union Territory. Mr. Rangasamy, who was heading a Congress government during 2004-06, said Mr. Lakhera had effectively discharged his constitutional responsibilities while serving as the Lt Governor of Puducherry.
