Playing popular numbers such as Janani, janani, Sorgame yendraalum, and Mandram vanda songs composed by maestro Ilayaraja, members of Namami Illayarajyam musical troupe drew a big crowd in front of his ancestral house at Pannaipuram here on Tuesday.The troupe, which is popular in Kerala, travels and plays hits of Ilayaraja. Violinists Sivakumar and Sriram, who arrived here, played the songs drawing good response from the villagers. Many women and children sat and listened to them song.Meanwhile, as the video went viral on social media, there were a number of requests to play more popular songs composed by the musician. The troupe also played a few hit songs in Malayalam.Enjoying the songs in front of the musician’s ancestral home, many villagers said it was a proud moment for them and honoured the violinists.
