Proteas all-rounder Marizanne Kapp is backing her captain Laura Wolvaardt to find form in the ICC T20 Women's World Cup semifinal against England at The Oval on Thursday.

Proteas all-rounder Marizanne Kapp believes her team’s experience in major tournament knockout matches will give them the edge in Thursday’s ICC Women's T20 World Cup semi-final against England at The Oval.

The Proteas have featured in three consecutive World Cup finals — two T20 World Cups and one ODI World Cup — and five semi-finals since 2022. They have also eliminated England in two semi-finals during that period.

It’s a far cry from the rookie outfits Kapp was part of when the Proteas lost to England in the 2014 T20 World Cup (Dhaka) and 2017 ODI World Cup (Bristol) semi-finals, respectively.

“We are experienced. I feel like we are in a better place as a whole, having reached the finals in the last couple of World Cups,” Kapp said on Tuesday.
