The SA Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) KZN Provincial Figure Skating Championships took place earlier this month at the Galleria Ice Rink.
The association said the event was a success and it was encouraging to have 19 athletes competing on the ice, which is more than twice the number of competitors that took part in 2025.
The KZN Provincial Figure Skating Championships took place this month at the Galleria Ice Rink. Seen in action is Lethu Gwala who took part in the bronze section.
“This big increase shows that our hard work to build up figure skating in KZN is paying off. What makes all the challenges worth it is seeing our skaters get better. We have competitions that help skaters at every level, and these are split into two main sections: The bronze section is a great way for skaters to get a feel for what it is like to compete in a big championship, but in a supportive environment.
