The Rotary Club of Adyar, in association with Fourrts India Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., donated a mobile oral cancer care bus worth ₹60 lakh to Sri Ramachandra Dental College and Hospital on Tuesday. The unit was inaugurated by Chancellor V.R. Venkataachalam in the presence of S.V. Veeramani, Chairman and Managing Director of Fourrts India Laboratories, and D. Devendran, District Governor of the Rotary Club.The mobile unit is equipped with a VELscope oral fluorescence imaging device and facilities for microscopic examination to support early detection and screening of oral cancer, particularly in underserved and high-risk communities.Individuals with suspicious lesions identified during screening camps will undergo brush biopsy and be referred to the hospital for further diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment.
