Solbeth Protection Services and Risk Management chief executive Siyabonga Kevin Xulu says he is not giving up his long-running battle with the eThekwini Municipality, insisting that KwaZulu-Natal's only metropolitan municipality owes his company millions of rand despite his court application being dismissed.
Durban businessman Siyabonga Kevin Xulu says he has no intention of abandoning his long-running legal battle with eThekwini Municipal Manager Musa Mbhele over millions of rand he claims is owed to his security company, Solbeth Protection Services and Risk Management.
The dispute between Xulu and Mbhele has played out publicly for several years, with the two repeatedly clashing over payment for services that Xulu says were rendered to the municipality.
According to Xulu, Solbet Protection was contracted by the municipality to provide specialised security services, including monitoring activities within the council, preventing the theft of sensitive municipal information and keeping watch over certain municipal officials.
He claims the contract was initially awarded during the tenure of former eThekwini City Manager Sipho Nzuza and that the work continued after Mbhele took over as municipal manager.
