Chidimma Adetshina, a former Miss South Africa finalist and Miss Universe Nigeria, appeared at the Cape Town Regional Court amid her ongoing battle to stay in South Africa after her June arrest for allegedly residing illegally in the country.
The Department of Home Affairs is moving forward with her deportation.
Adetshina attended court on 9 June following her arrest in Summer Greens, Cape Town. She is reportedly prohibited from entering South Africa and is alleged to have lied about her nationality, claiming to be a South African citizen when she crossed the Lebombo border from Mozambique.
The Department of Home Affairs located Adetshina and discovered that she and her minor son were allegedly residing in South Africa without proper legal status.
