Okai is facing a 16-count cybercrime charge instituted by the Kogi State Government over allegations linked to his social media activities.

The cybercrime trial of political activist and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate, Comrade Usman Okai Austin, has been adjourned until September 29, 2026, by the Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja.

Justice A.S. Ibrahim of Court 5 fixed the new date on Monday to enable the prosecution to present its next witness, with the Kogi State Government's Secretary to the State Government (SSG) expected to testify against the activist.
