The adjournment comes amid growing political discussions in Kogi State over Ali Bello’s alleged interest in contesting for a senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has adjourned the alleged N10.2billion fraud trial involving Ali Bello, a nephew of former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello, till June 2, 2026.

The adjournment comes amid growing political discussions in Kogi State over Ali Bello’s alleged interest in contesting for a senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court adjourned the matter on Monday after the continuation of a prosecution witness's testimony.

The anti-graft agency is prosecuting Ali Bello alongside Dauda Sulaiman on an amended 16-count charge bordering on alleged misappropriation and money laundering amounting to ₦10,270,556,800.
