The two young men who pleaded guilty last week to a disruptive cyber-attack on Transport for London were known to authorities for years before the 2024 TfL hack, the BBC reported.

Owen Flowers, 18, of Walsall in the West Midlands, initially came to the attention of police shortly after he turned 16 years old, while Thalha Jubair, 20, from east London, has 22 previous convictions in total and began offending at the age of 14, according to police.

The pair are to be sentenced on 16 July for the TfL hack, which began in August 2024 and caused months of disruption as well as compromising the personal information of millions of people.
