Two men have pleaded guilty to hacking into the systems of Transport for London, in a summer 2024 incident that caused months of disruption and cost TfL an estimated £39 million.
Thalha Jubair, 20, of east London and Owen Flowers, 18, from Walsall in the West Midlands had been expected to face a six-week trial in Woolwich Crown Court, but changed their pleas on the first day of the trial, on Monday.
They admitted to conspiring to commit offences against TfL under the Computer Misuse Act, pleading guilty on the basis that they recklessly accessed the systems without intending to do so.
