Two men have been sentenced to five years and six months in prison each for carrying out a cyber-attack on Transport for London in August 2024 that caused disruption for months and led to the personal details of millions of customers being distributed online.
Owen Flowers, 18, of Walsall, and Thalha Jubair, 20, from east London, earlier pleaded guilty to carrying out the hack as teenagers.
Both had committed numerous previous offences and were part of a loose association of hackers called Scattered Spider, one of several English-speaking groups comprised of people from the US and the UK.
