Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the negotiation team of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced that no negotiation sessions at any level will be held with the American side in the coming days, and that any potential travel by US representatives to Qatar has no connection to the visit of the Iranian expert delegation to the country.
Baghaei’s remarks came just hours after US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that the Islamic Republic had requested a meeting and that it was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 30, in Doha.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, June 29, Baghaei denied that any negotiations would take place, stating that the priority of the Islamic Republic is to follow up on the implementation of the terms of the memorandum of understanding and ensure that the other party fulfills its commitments.
Regarding the implementation of the clauses related to oil sales and the unfreezing of Iran’s blocked assets, he stated that, under Clause 10 of the memorandum of understanding, the necessary licenses for oil sales have been issued by the United States, and the implementation process is underway.
According to the negotiation team’s spokesperson, the implementation of Clause 11 of the memorandum of understanding concerning the unfreezing of Iran’s blocked assets is also being pursued. Within this framework, an expert delegation from the Islamic Republic will be dispatched to Doha this week.
