The victim, Jamilu Ibrahim, narrowly escaped death after sustaining a deep cut to the neck during the early morning attack.

A 23-year-old housewife, identified as Sadiya Lawal, has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command over the alleged attempted murder of her husband after she reportedly attacked him with a knife while he slept in their home in Katsina metropolis.

The victim, Jamilu Ibrahim, narrowly escaped death after sustaining a deep cut to the neck during the early morning attack.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Monday, saying the case was first reported at the Central Market Police Division in Katsina.

According to the police, Ibrahim arrived at the station around 9am on Monday and informed officers that his wife attacked him at about 5:30am while he was asleep, allegedly attempting to slit his throat with a sharp knife.
