Authorities on Tuesday discovered a body at the bottom of an air shaft of a large building at the center of Thessaloniki.
The unidentified body was found in the building that houses the American consulate and a shopping mall on Tsimiski Street.
Police have cordoned off the area while an ambulance crew and fire fighters have been called to the scene to assist in retrieving the body.
Authorities have not revealed the victim’s gender, while police are examining all possibilities as the cause of death, including homicide.
