A body has been found in a forested area of Derveni, north of Thessaloniki, where a wildfire is currently burning, the fire service said.
An investigation has been launched to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the cause of death.
More than 100 firefighters are battling the blaze, which broke out around noon in low vegetation. Eight firefighting aircraft and three helicopters are assisting the operation.
Local media reported that strong winds are pushing the fire front towards the village of Liti, also in the Municipality of Oreokastro.
