According to him, the alleged issuance of a second passport to a person facing criminal trial raises concerns capable of affecting national security.

Nigerian human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has petitioned the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Chairman Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu demanding an immediate, independent and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the processing and issuance of Nigerian Passport No. B51450551 to a criminal trial suspect, Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac, by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Falana, through a petition dated June 25, 2026 and signed on behalf of Falana & Falana Chambers by Prince Adebayo Adesina Oniyelu, urged the Minister to exercise his supervisory powers over the NIS and ensure that all relevant records connected to the passport issuance are preserved and subjected to scrutiny.

The lawyer specifically requested the preservation of application forms, supporting documents, affidavits, declarations, biometric enrolment records, approval logs, audit trails, access logs, metadata, backend system records, workstation identifiers and other documents generated during the passport processing.
