Sources within the Nigeria Immigration Service told SaharaReporters that the practice has been going on for years.
SaharaReporters has uncovered a high-level corruption and fraud scheme within the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), following the issuance of a second passport to real estate developer Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac, also known as Hajiya Bilkisu Ishaku Aliyu.
Godwin-Isaac, the Chief Executive Officer of Homadil Realty Limited, is currently standing trial before Justice Joyce Obehi Abdulmalik over allegations of forging land documents. The circumstances surrounding the issuance of the additional passport have raised fresh concerns about possible irregularities and misconduct within the immigration system.
In Charge No. FHC/ABJ/CR/77/2025 filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the trial judge, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, explicitly ordered the confiscation of Godwin-Isaac’s passport, placing it in the custody of the Federal High Court Registry as a key bail condition to prevent her from fleeing the country.
Findings revealed that Godwin-Isaac travelled to Rwanda; Dubai, UAE and London, UK while on bail, using a second passport that was fraudulently processed and issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service on February 15, 2025, with an expiry date of February 14, 2035.
