Since 2022, Ukrainian refugees have contributed about 1.6 billion Moldovan leu (more than $90 million) to Moldova's state budget through taxes and social security contributions.
This was reported by Point, citing Mold-Street, according to Ukrinform.
According to Moldova's Economic Council under the Prime Minister, Ukrainian refugees have also established more than 200 businesses in the country since 2022.
At the same time, the Council noted that although Moldova's legislation grants refugees access to the labor market, their integration remains a challenging process.
"Language barriers, difficulties in the recognition of qualifications, and adapting to the requirements of the local labor market limit refugees' ability to fully realize their professional potential," the Economic Council said.
