Members of CPI staging a demonstration, condemning the Central Government for its hike in petrol and diesel prices and demanding the State Government to Waive all crop loans obtained by farmers, as per the election Manifesto.

The Communist Party of India (CPI) cadre on Monday staged a protest in Madurai urging the State government to waive crop loans. Over 200 people, including 50 women cadres, participated in the protest.The CPI cadre urged the TVK government to waive crop loans and fulfil its poll promise. They also condemned the Central government for the hike in the fuel prices. They said the policies of the BJP led Central government were against the people and the working class.The CPI cadres also opposed the move to replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and said it should be implemented in a better manner.
