Mayoral candidate Brad Bradford is proposing to rename Toronto’s main downtown square, less than three years after he and a majority of councillors voted to christen it Sankofa Square.
At a press conference Monday, Bradford — who is councillor for Beaches—East York and for the moment Mayor Olivia Chow’s main declared challenger in the Oct. 26 election — released a plan to rename the space at the intersection of Yonge and Dundas Streets as Toronto Square.
