Manchester United is emerging as the frontrunner for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, with the 25-year-old German international reportedly favoring Old Trafford over a move to Newcastle United.

United’s recruitment team has ramped up contact with Nmecha’s representatives in recent weeks. And while no deal has been finalized, Nmecha wants to return to England with Manchester United specifically.

Newcastle priced out, Chelsea still lurking

Newcastle United had been tracking Nmecha but has cooled its interest, largely because of Dortmund’s asking price. The Bundesliga club has placed a valuation on Nmecha somewhere between €50M and €100M.

Chelsea remains in the picture as a credible alternative. Alongside Manchester United, the Blues are positioned as one of the two leading suitors for Nmecha’s signature. Interest from Manchester City and Liverpool has also been noted, though neither club appears to have pursued Nmecha with the same urgency as United and Chelsea. The situation remains fluid heading into the back end of June.
