South Africa - Pretoria- Madlanga Nku - 29 June 2026 Businessman and alleged police source, Tumelo Nku, has resumed his testimony at the Madlanga Commission.
Alleged police informant and suspected drug trafficker Tumelo Nku has admitted that the R60,000 in cash found in his possession during the 2021 Aeroton drug bust was intended to pay individuals for confidential Transnet truck tracking information.
Testifying at the Madlanga Commission on Monday, Nku conceded that the money was earmarked for people in Durban, specifically Zamo Khuzwayo, who he claimed had promised to provide access to Transnet's truck tracking system.
"I further confirm that the R60,000 cash that I had with me was intended to pay people in Durban, in particular Mr Zamo Khuzwayo, to provide me with Transnet tracking information of the truck," Nku told the commission.
He said the arrangement ultimately failed because Khuzwayo was unable to secure access to the tracking system.
