Businessman and police informant, Tumelo Nku, has testified at the Madlanga Commission on Thursday.
Businessman and police informant Tumelo Nku failed to provide a convincing explanation for why he was carrying R65,000 in cash when he was arrested during the 2021 Aeroton drug bust.
The cash, seized during Nku's arrest at the July 2021 operation, has emerged as one of the most contentious issues before the commission as investigators probe the circumstances surrounding the R300 million drug seizure.
Nku insisted the money was intended for travel expenses and intelligence-gathering activities linked to his work as an information source.
However, his explanation faced tough scrutiny from Commission Chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga.
