DMK cadre staged a protest while courting arrest demanding the resignation of Minister D. Sarathkumar over a controversial video of him handling suspected narcotics substance during an IPL match. The cadre enacted the Minister by pretending to snort the imaginary substance.Earlier, hundreds of DMK cadre led by Hosur ex MLA Y. Prakash courted arrests demanding the resignation of Mr. Sarathkumar for the video that was posted as “thug life” and purportedly shot before he became a Minister.The protests were part of the state-wide protests called by the DMK leader and former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. While scores of DMK cadre were rounded up and taken to a wedding hall in Krishnagiri, the cadre pushed their protests insitu of the holding center. Published - June 29, 2026 07:32 pm IST
