AC Milan has publicly shut down reports linking the club to Manchester United’s Mason Mount, calling the speculation unfounded and confirming that no contact has been made with the midfielder’s representatives.
The denial came swiftly after Italian media outlets reported that Mount had been offered to Milan, with suggestions that new head coach Ruben Amorim had approved negotiations at a potential fee of around €25 million.
What actually happened
On June 28, 2026, Italian media published reports claiming Mount had been proposed to AC Milan as a potential summer signing. The reports suggested Amorim was open to bringing in the English midfielder, with a price tag reportedly in the region of €25 million or lower.
That’s a significant markdown from the £55 million Manchester United paid Chelsea for Mount back in 2023.
