Military officials in Fars and Isfahan provinces have announced that residents may hear the sound of controlled explosions in certain areas of both cities over the coming hours.

The chief of the Army Coordination Staff in Fars province stated that ordnance disposal operations began on Saturday, June 27, and will continue until Wednesday, July 1, 2026. According to him, these are controlled explosions taking place within the perimeter of the Shahid Doran Air Base and Shiraz Airport.

Concurrently, the IRGC’s Saheb-al-Zaman Corps in Isfahan announced that due to controlled explosions being carried out in eastern Isfahan, the resulting sounds might be heard until 12:00 PM today.

Military officials in both Shiraz and Isfahan emphasized that these detonations are part of a planned operation to neutralize and destroy unexploded ordnance left behind after being struck during the war with the United States and Israel.
